The Alliance Wars have begun. With only a small number of ships capable of bringing the fight to the enemy, Admiral Kevin Patterson makes the bold decision to divide his forces, meeting the Resistance task force head-on at two separate locations. At Location Dagger, Captain Tom Prescott and crew aboard the destroyer Theseus meet with initial success on the battlefield, only to be faced with the arrival of a warship completely out of her class – armed with weapons for which she is not prepared. At Location Crossbow, Captain Bruce Abrams leads a powerful force of seventeen Theseus-class destroyers against the bulk of the Resistance task force in a last-ditch effort to prevent their ever reaching the Earth.

Comment:
I know I gave the previous two books in the series a higher grade, but by now I would imagine that trying to write a novel that doesn't sound like I'm reading a technical manual would be known to the author. Every page is filled with paragraphs of the most descriptive and mundane things about what the characters are doing and interacting with and at some point it really turned me off from reading.   (+1 vote)
