Excellent, excellent book. Extremely helpful for any aspiring writers. I learned more in this book than I've learned in some college writing classes. The first half is a wonderful memoir of King's life and the many ways he fulfilled his desire to write. The second half, as I've said, contained a wealth of knowledge about the craft. What it's like to be a writer, strategies King uses and strategies that may be useful to beginners and the more experienced alike, and what not to do! Why shouldn't

A fascinating look at the nuts and bolts of writing by one of the most successful authors of modern times. Opens with a section detailing King's journey to become a professional writer and some of his struggles after. Next comes the ideas about writing, how it should be done and how to pursue it. Finally there is a section concerning his recovery from a life threatening injury and how his return to writing got him back on track. Great read even for those who don't intend to become writers.
