I didn't love this book. Many of the people I know like it, but I feel like it didn't really say much in the grand scheme of things. As a dystopian novel, you would think there would be some sort of parallel to the world today, but it seemed to be mostlky for entertainment's sake, and even that value was low, and the ending made almost no sense at all, in terms of plot. It's a pretty popular book, but not the best in my opinion.

This book was really well-written, so it didn't feel like you were reading a YA book. It reminded me a lot of Brave New World, just because of the type of society the people lived in and the level of order and control that was kept over them. I have to admit that I'm confused by the ending, I'm not really sure what happened. Overall, a very enjoyable read, I'm happy that there are such great books out there to get kids interested in reading.

An interesting and surprising novel. I believe this is characterized as a young adult novel, but I was moved by it as an adult.

Guys, THIS BOOK. I wish someone would have told me sooner. I wish I would have been forced to read it in school. Gah. It's just so beautiful and sad and thoughtful and just ALL THE THINGS. I just want to call up Lois Lowry and tell her how thankful I am for this book. Honestly, it's a life changer.
