The world-building and scenery was especially enchanting, as I just returned from a trip to London. The main characters were interesting but I often found them one-dimensional, with the exception of the marquis de carabas. I also did not find myself that invested in the plot; I was more captivated by the people and settings of London Below than by the protagonist's quest. That being said, it was a very unique, witty, and entertaining read, which made me intrigued to read more of Gaiman's work.

Fans of Gaiman's style know how beautifully he can weave tales of adventure, heroism, murder and mayhem in fantastical struggles within the backdrop of The Real World. This is no exception. The journey of the Everyman Richard Mayhew into the world of London Below is rich in metaphor and darkly comical at times. There are multiple versions (UK, US and the International) so perhaps find the one best for you.

Classic Gaiman - a fantastical adventure with outrageously clever characters, vivid settings, hilarious one-liners delivered in his perfectly droll voice, and a few horrifying bits as well. The plot drags on a little but an enjoyable read/listen nonetheless.

Great book, I really enjoyed it. Had a creepy vibe to it that I didn't quite expect. My favourite Gaiman yet (okay, admittedly, I've only read two so far, but still). I found it a very intriguing concept, and really enjoyed the portrayal of the characters.
