This book certainly captivated my attention, and the author continues to provide interesting, dynamic characters of all different creatures. However sometimes there were too many characters to keep track of across time periods, and some of the obstacles seemed too easy or convenient for the protagonists to overcome.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second in this trilogy. It was a much better followup than the Magician King was to the Magicians. The characters stayed true and I loved the descriptions of the historical characters we come to know. Entertaining with just the right amount of suspense and mystery. I'm looking forward to the next one. My only hesitation while reading with it was how much it reminded me of the Outlander books/characters. I still really enjoyed it, but it lost a lot of originality points

I think I liked this book even better than the first of the series. Of course it takes place during one of my favorite historical eras, which helps. I enjoyed Diana and Mattherw's devolpment and Gallowglass is one of my new favorite characters. On to book 3!

Book was really addictive. I loved the historical details. Unfortunately the author used google translate to create the German part of a dialogue (well, you notice if you can speak real German *grin*). As the conclusion is missing you'll surely yearn to read book 3 in the series.

While I enjoyed the book there were too many plotlines and characters to keep track of. These characters also appeared exactly when needed to move the story forward or to save the unhappy couple.
