I never want to enjoy Dan Brown's books. They are repetitive, formulaic, badly written and Robert Langdon is too perfect to be real (so what if he's scared of small spaces - that's not really a proper character flaw). BUT they always seem to engross me in the end. Brown's saving grace is that he can weave an exciting plot that makes the reader want to reach the end of the chase despite it all. Good beach book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book but like most of Dan Brown's book, I have no interest in reading them twice.

As usual for Dan Brown, Inferno is fast paced and the reader hangs on the end of each chapter. The population/plague motivation behind the villian's actions is one of Brown's most thought provoking. I think the ideas in this novel may be even more controversial than those in The Davinci Code.

Inferno is what it is, good entertainment! Dan Brown do not fail my expectations after his previous works. After reading Inferno my interest in Dante have submerged, thus showing how a peace of fiction also can be informing.

Like every other DB book, the thing reads itself. The pacing is incredible. That said, it was very clunky compared to the other Langdon books. There is one point towards the end where there is supposed to be a big reveal that really boarders on the absurd. Sure, DB has always used mystery and misinformation to keep the reader plugging along, but this is on an unforgivable scale. Completely takes you out of the book. Totally sigh worthy. And the amnesia element is boring, too.
