Fresh out of college, Brendan Miller takes an internship at a unknown political party in hopes of gaining experience to complement his new degree. But just as he adapts to the hectic pace of a presidential election, the campaign trail turns deadly and Brendan finds himself involved in a perilous race to the White House.
Despite what the polling numbers and meddling journalists have to say, Brendan is certain that his party's nominee is capable of ending the bipartisan clash in America. To make that happen, he must spread his candidate's message across the country while protecting himself and those he loves from a mysterious threat terrorizing the political community.
Are the American people ready for a new party to lead their country? More importantly, will any of the candidates survive until November?
As Election Day approaches and the body count rises, only the votes will tell.

(Grade: A–) She writes an insightful novel set in today's political reality. The major characters were very interesting for sure. Since I am one of those Americans sick of politics as usual, I found it very enjoyable to read. Anyone who at least votes should read it too.

(Grade: A) Could America ever break away from its bipartisan ways and embrace a third-party presidential candidate? Lewis proposes such a scenario in her debut, which masquarades as a political thriller while carrying a surprising amount of emotional and philosophical depth. The narrator, Brendan Miller, is an underdog on a team of underdogs. You can't resist rooting for him on his journey through personal and professional challenges. The story builds to Election Day and never diappoints along the way.

way2benitski (Grade: A) Last candidate is very relevant to today's politics and campaign. As someone recently out of school, I found the main character relatable as he gains confidence on the job.

HeleneL (Grade: B+) This book begins slow but hooks you in! I found myself needing to read more, sneaking in moments when I had a few minutes to spare.
