What is BookDigits, and why should I use it?
BookDigits is a smarter way to explore books. Our goal is to change the way you read and help you find your next favorite book. Our rating system is unlike anything else on the web, and we're confident that you'll find BookDigits to be a fun, simple, and useful site.
What are the benefits of signing up for an account?
With a BookDigits account, you can contribute ratings for books, vote on other ratings, save a list of titles you want to read, and track your reading statistics. Best of all, getting an account will give you access to the BookDigits recommendation tool.
How do I sign up for an account?
Head over to the sign up page to create your BookDigits account. It's totally free and you just need an email address.
What if I can't find the book I'm looking for?
Click on the "Add missing book" link on the left side of the search results page. Then fill in the book's title, author, release date, page count, and synopsis. You can upload a cover image as well.
What if I notice incorrect information on a book page?
Click on the "Edit book details" link in the lower-left corner of the book page. Then fill in the correct title, author, release date, page count, synopsis, and cover image. Your suggested changes will be reviewed within 24 hours.

How do I create a book rating?
First, make sure you are logged in to your BookDigits account. Then find the book you want to rate and click on the "Rating" button.
What's the difference between a quick grade and a full rating?
When you rate a book with the "Quick Grade" button, you only need to select a letter grade from A+ through F (or a numeric grade from 5 to 1). Using the "Full Rating" option allows you to enter custom themes, adjust metrics, and add a text review. You can edit a quick grade at any time and convert it to a full rating.
How do I edit a book rating?
Find the rating you want to change and click on the "Edit" link. You can quickly choose a new grade or click on the "Full" button to adjust other parts of your rating.
How do I delete a book rating?
Find the rating you want to delete and click on the "Edit" link. Then click on the "Full" button and look for the "Delete Rating" link in the lower-right corner.
How do I import ratings from another site?
BookDigits supports importing from Goodreads. To import your Goodreads ratings and to-read list, go to the import page and follow the simple steps.
How do I export my ratings?
Go to your account settings and click on the "Export" button.
How do I mark a book as my current book?

How do I re-read a book I've already rated?
Find the desired book and click on the "Re-read" link.
How do I add a book to my to-read list?

How do I remove a book from my to-read list?
Find the desired book or navigate to your to-read list and then click on the "Remove" link.
How do I set a reading goal for the year?
Navigate to your profile and enter the number of books you want to read in the "2024 Goal" section. Your progress toward your goal will be automatically tracked, and your goal can be changed at any time.
What do points mean and how are scores calculated?
Points are distributed as follows: each quick grade = 1 point, each full rating = 2 points, each text review = 3 points, each completed re-read = 1 point, each upvote = 1 point. (Note: imported ratings do not earn points.)
What do the numbers next to reviews mean?
When creating a rating, you have the option to include a short comment summarizing your opinion of the book. Then other users can upvote your review to boost its visibility.
How can I improve my recommendations?
Rate more books! As you create ratings, BookDigits learns what types of books you enjoy and bases its recommendations on that information.
Why don't I see any recommendations?
First, make sure you are logged in to your BookDigits account. If you are still not seeing any recommendations, it means the site does not have enough data to work with. Keep rating books, and make sure to tell your friends and family to join BookDigits, too.
What if I accidentally hid a book or author from my recommendations list?
Go to your account settings and refer to the "Reset Recommendations" section.
What are achievements?
BookDigits introduced an achievements system in 2014. Each time you complete a reading challenge, you'll earn a new rank and badge that will be displayed next to your username throughout the site. The order of achievements are:
Is my BookDigits profile public or private?
All BookDigits profiles are public since your username is the only piece of identifying information displayed on the site. There is no option to make your profile private.
Why aren't my theme tags showing up on book pages?
If multiple members enter slightly different themes for books, we may group the tags together and choose the most descriptive label. So rest assured, your ratings are all being counted.
How do I deactivate or delete my account?
Go to your account settings to start the deactivation process. Deactivated accounts are deleted within two weeks.
How do I suggest a title for Book of the Week?
Go to our advertising page to learn more about promoting titles on BookDigits.
What can I do to show my love for BookDigits?
First, make sure to tell your friends and family members to join the site. You can also support BookDigits directly by going to our donation page and making a donation through Paypal or Square Cash. (We love you, too!)
How did the idea for BookDigits come about?
Bennett Gavrish came up with the idea for BookDigits, and he's also the site's primary developer. Bennett was tired of the way traditional book reviews were written and decided to invent a better method.
